New Zealand

Capital: Wellington
Currency: New Zealand Dollar, $1=€0.50, €1=$2.00

I visited New Zealand for 2½ weeks. Though I enjoyed visiting many places, I wish I allowed more time and stayed longer in some places. I enjoyed the many activities there. Because I stayed in many places for only one night, I don't have information on hostels.

I found the people in New Zealand very friendly. The Maoris, the original people of New Zealand, are fully integrated unlike the Aborigines in Australia - when I flew in Auckland, I found a lot of Maoris working in the airport.

New Zealand is divided into two islands, called North Island and South Island. The North Island is warmer while the South Island has a climate similar to Ireland and UK. The North Island is more populated than the South. The South Island is greener as there are many forests.

New Zealand is the place for activities. Activities include bungy jumping, skydiving and whitewater rafting.
