Thursday 10 - Tuesday 22 May

G'day all! The last itinerary was not meant to be sent at that time, as it was not completed. Anyway you now know I have met Judy Nunn.

It was back to work on Thursday. In the evening, I caught the train to Petersham; after getting off the train, I saw Nikolah, Tricia and her friend, Eileen, walking - they were on the same train. I ran up to them from behind and gave them an enormous fright! I attracted the attention of others but I didn't care – it was funny! We waited for William and his friend and went roller-skating. I saw quite a few gay couples - some men were quite feminine and the girls were boyish. I thought I may have been used to it but I felt weird seeing this again. I had fun that night - there were musical chairs and Tricia fell! Nikolah hit me gently but it was a hard push and I fell!

More work the next day, but the last day of the week - Friday 11th. At night, I went out with the people from the hostel returning late the next morning.

Unfortunately, some thieves broke into the hostel's lockers and a few of us had lost some stuff. It appears that the bedroom is safer.

There was a DVD playing at the hostel and I saw 'End of Days' which was quite good. I met up with two Irish girls (Jane and Bernie) who just arrived for five weeks and went with them to Ashfield for a few drinks.

I did little the next day, Sunday. On the way back to the hostel, I saw Rowena Wallace, who played June Reynolds in Home and Away (Harry's mother). She was at a coffee shop in Glebe, a few minutes away from my hostel. I talked to her for a bit. Pity I did not have the camera with me! There was a DVD playing the next day - Fight Club. It wasn't as good as End of Days.

Back to work during the week...

On Thursday evening, I went to Burwood with Claire, as there was a deaf debate on. I saw a few familiar faces.

Friday was my final day at work. A barbecue was served at lunch - was that anything to do with me leaving? I asked them do they have a barbecue often and the answer was no.

I finally booked a train to Melbourne and the flight to Tasmania - at last!

I went shopping for clothes afterwards and got a new jacket and sweatshirt - by Rip Curl! It was a nice day and I walked to Glebe Point. It was a short walk - how could I have missed it after being in Glebe for three weeks! There are three parks and there is a pleasant view of the sea and Sydney Harbour Bridge and Anzac Bridge. The city blocks and Centrepoint can also been seen. In the evening, I went to Bondi Junction as there was a new deaf club being opened.

While waiting for a friend at Cock and Bull, an Irish pub, I saw Justyn (one of the leaders of ER camps). After the deaf club, we went to the Cock and Bull.

I went to Glebe Point the next day (Sunday) and there was a fete on. It was quite small. There was a hockey match on, played by kids. I think it was just fun. I met up with Nikolah and walked around Glebe Point again!

I took Nikolah over to Redfern for a barbecue at Declan's place. Due to plans the next day, I stayed overnight. Jane's boyfriend (Vinny) was being picked up at the airport during the barbecue. A joke was played on us - we took it really seriously and raised many serious questions! We were told Vinny is in Perth, not Sydney! We were working how he could have got on the wrong plane as tickets are usually checked. They arrived at the door with smiling faces - it was just a joke, or was it?

Next day, Monday, was a great day for me. As Jane, Vinny and Bernie were coming with me and staying in Redfern, it made sense to stay overnight. We went off to Palm Beach (yes, it is my third time!). I wrote some cards to the cast who were there the first and second time to thank them for the photos and to talk to. Three of them were for others who were not there but I hope to see them before I return home, as these three have been on the programme a long time, and one for the remainder of the cast and the crew. It was disappointing after arriving there. We went to a cafe first and the staff member said they were not filming. I asked him to ring and to my relief, they are!

I was disappointed to see only Beau Brady (Noah Lawson), Ryan Kwanten (Vinnie Patterson) and Cameron Welsh (now behind camera - he played Mitch McColl). I asked Beau for a photo and he asked me for pen and paper - I did not ask for an autograph! It was so hot that day - I had a jacket with me! I saw Kate Garven (Jade Sutherland). Hours later, more disappointing, Jane, Bernie and Vinny decided to leave. I stayed there and was lucky. It was lunchtime for the cast members and the crew. I saw Ray Meagher (Alf Stewart) and Christie Hayes (Kirsty Sutherland).

After lunch, Christie and Kate were talking to some guy. I walked up to them and Christie remembered me from the first time at Palm Beach. Christie is very nice. The guy they were with is now part of the cast. He introduced himself to me as Mitch. We talked for a while.

I saw Michael Beckley (Rhys Sutherland) as well - he was busy acting. I managed to talk to Michael and Ray and got photos. They remembered me from the first time! I thanked Ray for his part in Home and Away for thirteen years.

I talked to a crewmember and asked her the new guy's name. She said he is Mitch Farth. She would not reveal the character name - watch out for him in the closing credits. They were filming for episode 3105 - it may be shown on 17 August in Australia. In Ireland (including Northern Ireland), he may be seen around December.

For UK residents (Northern Ireland also, but on Channel 5), it would be over a year - perhaps late 2002 before he is seen on TV.

The first time I was at Palm Beach, they were filming Fisher's incident – he may collapse. That may be on Episode 3057, due to be shown on 12 June. Check out the summaries on the site below after that date.

I said goodbye to Kate and Christie and then Chris Egan (Nick Smith) arrived. He got a lift, from his father, I suppose. He was glad to see me, shaking my hands and asked me am I staying or going. I stayed for a few minutes. He shook my hands again before he went. He is so friendly.

Last night, I went to Newtown to a Deaf theatre. I saw Anna Hruby (Judith Ackroyd) and Stephen James King (Edward Dunglass) there. I talked to them. Stephen did not remember me as I got a haircut! Anna thought she met me as I called her name!

The play was quite disappointing. I talked to Anna and Stephen afterwards and it was great! I had photos taken - Anna was 'over me' when the photos were taken! They were both friendly and would like to meet me again - perhaps before I return home.

Wow, I must say that yesterday was one of the best days in Australia. I did not think I would meet 10 of the cast and also meet one guy who won't be on TV for a few months. Some of you will be asking me to put the photos on the site. I may do so in a few months, but not immediately (don't forget I am a backpacker, travelling around on little money!). The next time I get films developed, I will have some on CD. Please check the site below now and then - the summaries have just been put on.

The next time you hear from me, I may be in Tasmania...
