The cost of living is very cheap in Australia when compared to Ireland, America and UK.
Eating out is cheap, as is renting even if you are renting close to the city for around $90 per person, though cheaper rates can be found.
Supermarkets such as Bi-Lo and Woolworths have a lot of own brand items which are quite cheap such as pasta and toothpaste which can be bought for less than a dollar! Chocolate is expensive though there may be a difference of $0.60 in supermarkets.
