During the winter, it's very cold. Hobart is quite small and you can view Mount Wellington from within the city. The streets are in a grid similar to Melbourne with most of them being one way.

It's slightly warmer than Hobart during winter by just a few degrees. You can walk on the many tracks on Cataract Gorge Reserve.
There are many walks you can do here. One of the walks take you to Duck Reach Power Station which was used for transporting materials to build a bridge. One other walk takes you to the bridge where you can view the city of Launceston. Watch out for kangaroos. No charge
Don’t expect your mobiles to work, depending on the network. There is a walking track along the coast, starting near Diamond Island, famous for its fairy penguins, called Foreshore Footway. This walk is not continuous and it may be easy to find yourself off the track. The walk from the hostel to township takes 30 minutes, while it takes another 30 minutes from the township to blowhole. The local supermarket opens every day.
Don’t expect your mobiles to work, depending on the network. There is internet access in the bakery which is quite expensive, costing $6 for 30 minutes. The supermarket and the bakery are open 7 days, and there is also a post office nearby. Along with them, you can also hire a bike at the post office, and other equipment including camp equipment near the post office. If you walk along Esplanade, you can enjoy its lovely views of orange/red coloured rocks and the sea, and also its rocky mountains in the distance along with its small beaches. There is an adventure centre close to hostel but it was closed while I was there. The large protected park, Freycinet National Park, is 6km away for plenty of walking tracks. Just close to the hostel is Muirs Beach. While I was there, it was quite hot and wore just shorts and t-shirt. Walk around Coles Bay township and along the Esplanade for views of the sea and rocks, also Muirs Beach

A parks pass is required at a cost of $3.30 per person for one day, which
can be bought in the local shops in Coles Bay. The park is 6km from Coles
Bay. There are numerous walking tracks, varying in lengths from 1-hour return
to longer ones taking several days. Rangers Creek, the lighthouse, Sleepy
Bay, Hazards, Wineglass Bay lookout and beach, Richardson Beach

This is now a fudge factory. It was previously a jail and a factory. Women were prisoners here and worked here, hence the name. There were about 5 buildings but now there is only the fudge shop and the remains: some parts are not open to the public. The tour starts at 10:30am. There is free tasting of fudge if you would like to buy some
There are 2-hour tours available on how this famous Tasmanian beer is made.
It stretches from Bicheno township to the beach across from Diamond Island. It takes about 0.5 hours to walk each way. The penguins come out either at night or dawn at Diamond Island. No charge - see Bicheno above
