This was a former jailhouse which housed criminals until 1995 and the dorms
are cells. Each dorm consists of a toilet and sink and two bunk beds. Live
like a prisoner for a change - the prisoners did not have any luxury! The
lounge is quite comfortable

is always more than the number of locals! Check out the tour where you live
and camp with Iga Warta Aboriginal Community for a few nights. Try a different
meal here - emu burgers and kangaroo steak and sausages are offered

Due to the hot weather here, people live underground. This hostel is built
underground with dorms underground, kitchen and toilets on ground floor. The
reception, opal shop and the bar areas are underground. There is a tour around
Coober Pedy and the opal fields where you may have a chance to look for opals
in the heat
